Naturally It's Clean vs. Standard Enzyme Cleaners: Which Works Better?

When we first heard about Naturally It's Clean, we were skeptical. A plant-based enzyme cleaner that works as well as the heavy-duty formulas? We had to test it ourselves.
Here's our honest comparison after 8 weeks of testing on real dog accidents.
The Contenders
Naturally It's Clean
- 100% plant-based enzyme formula
- No dyes, artificial fragrances, or harsh chemicals
- Works on carpet, upholstery, and drapes
- Price: ~$15-18 for 24oz
Standard Enzyme Cleaners
We tested against three popular enzyme cleaners: Nature's Miracle, Rocco & Roxie, and a generic store brand.
Test Methodology
We set up controlled tests using dog urine samples (yes, really) on identical carpet squares:
- Fresh stains (cleaned within 10 minutes)
- Day-old stains
- Week-old set-in stains
- Double-layer stains (accidents on top of old accidents)
Each cleaner was applied according to package directions, allowed to work for the same amount of time, and evaluated after 24 hours using both smell tests and UV light inspection.
Results: Head-to-Head
Fresh Stains
Winner: Tie
All enzyme cleaners handled fresh stains well when used correctly. The key is catching accidents early and saturating the area.
Day-Old Stains
Winner: Naturally It's Clean (slight edge)
We noticed slightly better results with Naturally It's Clean on 24-hour-old stains. The plant-based formula seemed to penetrate fibers effectively, and there was less residual odor in humidity tests.
